Raptors hope to end struggles on the road

Mar 31, 2008 - 12:59 PM Toronto (37-36) at Charlotte (28-45) 7:00 pm EDT

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) - The Toronto Raptors hope to end a six-game road losing streak when they visit the Charlotte Bobcats on Monday.

The Raptors have gone just 5-12 in their last 17 games overall and have not won away from home since March 5 at Miami.

The struggles have dropped Toronto into sixth place in the Eastern Conference and just one-half game ahead of seventh-place Philadelphia (37-37).

Toronto allowed New Orleans to shoot 60 percent (48-of-80) in Sunday's 118-111 setback to the Hornets. Chris Bosh led seven players in double figures with 21 points for the Raptors, who trailed by as many as 24 late in the third quarter.

The Bobcats are on a three-game winning streak as they return home from a successful four-game road trip.

Charlotte defeated Portland, 93-85, on Saturday, led by Emeka Okafor's 21 points. Gerald Wallace had just seven points, marking the first time in 10 games since returning from a concussion that he scored in single digits.

The teams have split the previous two contests earlier this season.
