Sixers look to end rare two-game slide at Nets

Apr 1, 2008 - 1:55 PM Philadelphia (37-37) at New Jersey (31-43) 7:30 pm EDT

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) - The Philadelphia 76ers hope to get back into the win column when they visit the New Jersey Nets on Tuesday.

Philadelphia has lost back-to-back games for the first time since February 1-4 after Sunday's 91-88 setback at Cleveland. The Sixers were defeated by Phoenix on Friday.

Since that last two-game skid, Philadelphia has gone 19-7 to rise comfortably into seventh place in the Eastern Conference. The Sixers are also just one-game back of Toronto (38-36) for the sixth seed with eight games remaining.

Andre Iguodala led five players in double figures with 19 points in Sunday's loss and the fourth-year pro continues to lead the team in scoring at 19.8 points per game.

The Nets are also on a two-game losing streak and are trying to hold on to their dwindling playoff hopes.

New Jersey is currently three games behind Atlanta (34-40) for the eighth and final playoff spot.

Vince Carter scored 32 points but the Nets dropped a 110-104 contest to Phoenix on Saturday. Carter is averaging 30.3 points over his last seven games.
