Knicks look for first win on road swing

Apr 2, 2008 - 2:13 PM New York (20-54) at Memphis (19-55) 8:00 pm EDT

MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) - Things haven't been working out for the New York Knicks on their current road swing.

The Knicks hope to finally break through on their five-game road trip when they visit the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday.

Last time out, Quentin Richardson scored 22 points and Zach Randolph added 19 and 10 rebounds, but if wasn't enough as New York fell 119-115 in overtime at Milwaukee on Tuesday.

The Knicks are also trying to avoid a season sweep by Memphis, which got 34 points from Mike Miller in a 120-106 victory at Madison Square Garden on March 21.

Rudy Gay continued his stellar second season with 29 points for the Grizzlies in Monday's 116-99 setback to the Atlanta Hawks.

"It's just tough to see our team get down like we did, and we have to fight so hard to get back," Gay said. "I guess they came out here with the mind-set to move the ball and get everybody involved, and that's what they did."

New York owns the third-worst road record in the East at just 7-29 and also enters riding a four-game slide away from home.
