Celtics aiming for history vs. Bobcats
Apr 5, 2008 - 3:00 PM Boston (60-15) at Charlotte (29-47) 7:00 pm EDTCHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- The Boston Celtics look to continue their impressive season when they visit the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday.
Boston enters the contest needing just a win to secure the biggest-single season turnaround in league history.
After going just 24-58 last season, the Celtics already have made a 36-game improvement this year, resulting in the best overall record in the NBA.
The Celtics registered their fifth straight win with Wednesday's 92-77 victory over the Indiana Pacers.
It also marked the 12th 60-win season in franchise history.
Jason Richardson led the way with 27 points as Charlotte picked up another rare road win Friday with a 105-100 triumph over the Toronto Raptors.
"It was a huge win for us," Richardson said. "We know that it's getting close to getting teams eliminated from the playoffs, but we still got team goals that we want to accomplish and we are going to play hard until the last game of the season."
The Bobcats may be without forward Gerald Wallace, who exited Friday's win at intermission with a sore left groin and did not return.
