Hawks look for split in home-and-home series

Apr 5, 2008 - 3:08 PM Atlanta (35-41) at Philadelphia (39-37) 7:00 pm EDT

PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia 76ers have already clinched a postseason berth. The same cannot be said for the Atlanta Hawks.

Atlanta looks to inch closer to the playoffs Saturday in the finale of a home-and-home series against the Sixers.

In Friday's opener of the series, Andre Iguodala collected 30 points and 10 rebounds as the 76ers locked up a postseason berth with a 109-104 victory.

"I'm so proud of our players," Sixers coach Maurice Cheeks said. "The last time we were in this building, we were 18-30. To be where we are now is an incredible accomplishment.

"Our first step was to get to the playoffs. Now, we have to turn that off and turn it back on track (Saturday) to get a better spot."

Joe Johnson scored 32 points and Josh Childress added 20 for the Hawks, who are just three games ahead of Indiana (32-44) in race for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

Atlanta plays four of its final six games away from Philips Arena - including a stop at Indiana April 8 - but is just 10-27 on the road this season.
