Pistons go for fifth straight win

Apr 6, 2008 - 2:06 PM Detroit (54-21) at Miami (13-63) 6:00 pm EDT

MIAMI (Ticker) - The Detroit Pistons aim for their fifth consecutive victory when they visit the lowly Miami Heat on Sunday.

The Pistons, who can also sweep the season series with a win, are in the midst of their seventh straight 50-win season.

Antonio McDyess scored 19 points and Rasheed Wallace had 17 and eight rebounds as Detroit cruised over New Jersey, 106-87, on Friday.

With a win, Detroit can officially clinch the second seed in the Eastern Conference.

The season just can't seem to end soon enough for the Heat, who have lost six straight contests.

Ricky Davis scored a season-high 33 points and Chris Quinn added 24 in Miami's latest loss, a 109-95 setback to Washington on Friday. Davis made 9-of-12 3-pointers in the loss.

Miami, which is scoring just 80.7 points during the losing streak, is 7-30 at home this season.
