Warriors limp home after rough road trip

Apr 8, 2008 - 2:13 PM Sacramento (36-41) at Golden State (46-31) 10:30 pm EDT

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) - The Golden State Warriors open an important home stand when they host the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday.

The Warriors went 1-3 on their recent four-game road trip, failing to score 100 points in three of the contests after topping that plateau in 37 straight games.

Golden State, which plays the next three games at home and four of its final five contests at the Oracle Arena, is tied with Denver (46-31) for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

The Warriors face the Nuggets in a crucial matchup Thursday.

Monta Ellis had 35 points and 10 rebounds but the Warriors lost, 108-96, in the final game of the trip at New Orleans on Sunday.

Captain Stephen Jackson, who is averaging over 20 points per game, had a terrible week for the Warriors, scoring just 7.0 points and shooting a dismal 26 percent (12-of-47) over the four games.

Sacramento had its four-game winning streak snapped on Sunday, losing a 114-92 contest to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Kevin Martin scored 22 points and Ron Artest had 19 in the loss for the Kings, who have played the last two games without center Brad Miller (knee).
