Golden State, which plays the next three games at home and four of its final five contests at the Oracle Arena, is tied with Denver (46-31) for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
The Warriors face the Nuggets in a crucial matchup Thursday.
Monta Ellis had 35 points and 10 rebounds but the Warriors lost, 108-96, in the final game of the trip at New Orleans on Sunday.

Sacramento had its four-game winning streak snapped on Sunday, losing a 114-92 contest to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Kevin Martin scored 22 points and Ron Artest had 19 in the loss for the Kings, who have played the last two games without center Brad Miller (knee).
