Sixers look to split season series vs. Pistons
Apr 9, 2008 - 3:07 PM Detroit (55-22) at Philadelphia (39-38) 7:00 pm EDTPHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia 76ers will try to split their season series with the Detroit Pistons when the playoff-bound Eastern Conference teams square off Wednesday.
The last time these two clubs tangled here, Detroit's All-Star duo of Chauncey Billups and Richard Hamilton combined for 40 points in an 86-78 victory on January 23.
However, Hamilton will not be in the lineup Wednesday as he continues to rest his sore knee that has limited him to just one appearance in the last eight games.
Philadelphia still remains within striking distance of fourth place in the Eastern Conference and home-court advantage in the first round. The Sixers enter Wednesday's matchup two games behind the fourth-place Cleveland Cavaliers (42-35).
Andre Iguodala scored 25 points in Saturday's 92-85 loss to the Atlanta Hawks in the finale of a home-and-home series.
