James making sure Cavaliers enter playoffs on high note
Apr 11, 2008 - 2:33 PM Cleveland (43-35) at Chicago (30-48) 7:00 pm EDTCHICAGO (Ticker) - LeBron James is making sure the Cleveland Cavaliers don't back into the playoffs.
James and the Cavaliers try to increase their lead for home-court advantage in the first round of the postseason when they visit the Chicago Bulls on Friday.
Cleveland snapped a brief two-game losing streak and picked up its third win in its last eight games with a 104-83 drubbing against the New Jersey Nets on Wednesday.
Despite battling back spasms which kept him out of two practices earlier this week, James had 33 points, eight assists and seven rebounds to lead the Cavaliers against the Nets.
With the win, the Cavaliers (43-35) remained in fourth place in the East, two games ahead of the Washington Wizards (41-37) and three games in front of the Philadelphia 76ers (40-38).
The Bulls have been officially eliminated from playoffs and their recent play has reflected that.
Chicago suffered its third straight loss on Wednesday, enduring a 115-83 rout by the Orlando Magic.
