Blazers looking for strong finish to season

Apr 11, 2008 - 3:06 PM Portland (39-39) at Sacramento (36-42) 10:00 pm EDT

SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) - Following a five-game losing streak, the Portland Trail Blazers go for their second straight win when they visit the Sacramento Kings on Friday.

Portland enjoyed a 13-game winning streak earlier in the season, but has faltered during the second half of the campaign. The Blazers have not finished above .500 since going 50-32 during the 2002-03 season.

The Blazers ended their skid with a 112-103 victory over Los Angeles on Wednesday, marking the sixth straight home win over the playoff-bound Lakers.

Brandon Roy had 23 points and matched his career high with 12 assists, while LaMarcus Aldridge had 22 points and 16 rebounds. Channing Frye added season highs with 22 points and 12 rebounds in the win.

The Kings have lost two straight contests and are coming off a 140-132 setback to Golden State on Tuesday.

Francisco Garcia scored 31 points and Kevin Martin added 29 for the Kings, who played without Ron Artest and Brad Miller due to various injuries.

The Kings are 2-1 against the Blazers this season.
