Spurs hope for more offense against Sonics
Apr 11, 2008 - 3:12 PM Seattle (18-61) at San Antonio (53-25) 8:30 pm EDTSAN ANTONIO (Ticker) - The San Antonio Spurs hope to jump-start a slumping offense when they host the Seattle SuperSonics on Friday.
Following an eight-game winning streak, the Spurs have gone 1-2 and scored just 71.7 points over that span.
San Antonio is coming off a 96-79 setback to Phoenix on Wednesday, totaling just 34 points in the second half. Tim Duncan had 23 points and 10 rebounds in the loss.
Scoring hasn't been much of a problem for many teams against Seattle this season, as the Sonics are averaging 106.4 points allowed per game.
Seattle has dropped 18 of its last 20 games and is in last place in the Western Conference.
Rookie Kevin Durant scored 26 points but Seattle was pounded, 103-80, at Houston on Wednesday.
The teams have split a pair of contests in the two meetings this season.
