Top 3 NBA Betting Picks for Friday, June 25th (2021)

Jun 25, 2021 - 3:10 PM

The 2021 NBA Playoffs continue to excite and surprise. Paul George is exercising his demons during this playoff run. Pandemic P has turned back into Playoff P and is showing off the elite skills that made him a borderline superstar in Indiana. He was able to help carry the Clippers to a victory in Los Angeles and will look to tie the series up tomorrow night. Tonight, we have Game 2 of the series between the Atlanta Hawks and the Milwaukee Bucks. Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks shocked the world with their Game 1 win, so expect the Bucks to throw their best punch tonight.

1. Hawks +8 | -109 at DraftKings Sportsbook

The Atlanta Hawks are listed at +8 again despite their Game 1 victory. The spread was too high for the Bucks to be a value then, and after a home loss, the same is true for tonight. The Bucks should be better tonight if Khris Middleton can avoid shooting sub .300 from the floor, making them the favorite to come out victorious tonight. However, winning by the nine points required to cover necessitates a collapse from Trae Young. The Hawks have enough secondary and tertiary scoring support to withstand bad nights from others, so shutting down Trae from going north of 30 points will be key to a cover. Jrue Holiday is an excellent defender, but Trae still managed to drop 48 points in Game 1. The probability lies with a Hawks cover at the current spread. Tap them for one unit if you feel so inclined.

2. Jrue Holiday Over 7.5 Assists | -120 at DraftKings Sportsbook

If Game 1 was any indication, Jrue Holiday is going to be a completely different animal against the Atlanta Hawks. Jrue somehow morphed into an inefficient floor general against the Brooklyn Nets but was back to his old self in the series opener against Atlanta despite having to guard Trae Young for much of it. He had 33 points and 10 assists in Game 1 and has now hit eight or more assists in four of his last five games. Averaging just 5.8 assists per game in the playoffs as a whole, the under is the obvious initial value. However, his inspired play as of late has him averaging eight assists over the aforementioned past four contests. His recent play, as well as trends, suggest an over touch for tonight’s game but keep it to one unit.

 3. Trae Young Over 9.5 Assists | -120 at DraftKings Sportsbook

Trae Young has been on fire this postseason. Already knocking on the door of superstardom, Trae has become a household name with his electric performances and production. After averaging an elite 25.3 points and 9.4 assists per game during the regular season, Trae, like all true superstars do, turned it up another notch in the playoffs and is averaging 30.5 points and 10.5 assists per game. He has hit double-digit assists in each of his last three, four of his last five, and six of his last eight contests. Still, the 9.5 number keeps this from being a smash play. At 8.5, this prop would be a multiple unit, key everywhere you can value, instead, touch for just one unit, but do so with confidence.
