Jazz try to maintain home dominance of Clippers

Nov 14, 2006 - 2:25 PM LA Clippers (5-1) at Utah (6-1) 9:00 pm EST

SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) - Despite their success in the past two seasons, the Los Angeles Clippers cannot seem to buy a break at the Delta Center.

Elton Brand looks to lead the Clippers to their sixth straight victory and just their second road win over the Utah Jazz in 30 tries when the teams meet Tuesday in an early battle of division leaders.

Coming off last season's playoff appearance - their first in 14 years - the Clippers can get off to their second consecutive 6-1 start. However, they have dropped 28 of their last 29 games here, winning only on January 22, 2003.

Brand scored 22 points to lead six players in double figures and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Clippers, who set a season low in points allowed in Sunday's 92-76 triumph over the New Orleans Hornets.

Looking to make up for missing the postseason, Utah has a chance for its first 7-1 start since 1998-1999. The Jazz have topped the century mark in all their victories and suffered their only loss to the New Jersey Nets, 96-89, on Wednesday.

Carlos Boozer scored 32 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Deron Williams added 27 with 15 assists for Utah in Saturday's 113-111 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Do-everything forward Andrei Kirilenko is not expected to play for the Jazz after suffering a sprained right ankle against Milwaukee.
