Davis looks to lead Warriors to third straight victory

Nov 14, 2006 - 2:28 PM Toronto (2-4) at Golden State (4-3) 10:30 pm EST

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) - The Golden State Warriors showed the NBA what they are capable of Saturday. The Toronto Raptors hope to make a similar statement Tuesday when they play the second game of a five-game road trip.

The Warriors have averaged 116 points in winning their last two games after averaging 96.4 points in losing three of their first five contests. They are coming off a resounding 111-79 rout of the Detroit Pistons in which Baron Davis scored 20 points to lead five players in double figures and had nine assists.

Jason Richardson added 16 points and Andris Biedrins and Mickael Pietrus chipped in 13 apiece for Golden State, which shot a blistering 57 percent (43-of-76), including 12-of-21 from the arc.

Toronto opened its road trip with a 107-92 defeat in Sacramento on Sunday despite 19 points from Chris Bosh and 18 from Morris Peterson. Anthony Parker added 14 for the Raptors, who made just 6-of-24 3-pointers, committed 18 turnovers and were outrebounded, 44-35, in losing their second straight game.

Golden State has lost two consecutive meetings with Toronto and six of the last eight encounters.
