James, Cavaliers go for fourth straight win

Nov 15, 2006 - 2:51 PM Portland (4-4) at Cleveland (5-2) 7:00 pm EST

CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to continue their impressive start this season.

On Wednesday, superstar LeBron James will try and lead the Cavaliers to their fourth straight victory when the Portland Trail Blazers pay a visit.

Damon Jones recorded season highs of 29 points and seven 3-pointers and James also chipped in 29 points with 19 coming in the second half for Cleveland in a 102-96 triumph over the New York Knicks on Monday.

The 21-year-old James is averaging 28.7 points and 7.7 rebounds in Cleveland's three-game winning streak. He has registered a triple-double and four double-doubles in six career meetings against Portland.

Zach Randolph had 26 points and nine rebounds and Juan Dixon added 15 for the Blazers, who dropped the first game of a four-game road swing with a 101-89 setback at Minnesota on Tuesday.

The loss was the first time the Trail Blazers dropped back-to-back matchups this season.

Portland will be without the services of Darius Miles, who will have season-ending microfracture right knee surgery. The 6-9 forward missed 40 games a year ago due to knee troubles. He has not played this season and missed the entire preseason.

Both clubs split the season series last year as each captured home triumphs. The Cavs have won three consecutive meetings in the series here, including a 99-84 victory on March 17 that featured a 27-point performance by James.
