Billups, Pistons look to rebound vs. Hornets

Nov 15, 2006 - 3:18 PM New Orleans (5-3) at Detroit (3-4) 7:30 pm EST

AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- The Detroit Pistons are glad to be back home after a lackluster effort on their four-game West Coast swing.

The Pistons have lost three of their last four games and hope to turn things around when Chris Paul and the New Orleans Hornets visit Motown on Wednesday.

Chauncey Billups and Tayshaun Prince scored just 11 points apiece in Saturday's 111-79 thrashing at the hands of the Golden State Warriors. It was the worst margin of defeat since a 37-point setback to Dallas on November 19, 2005.

Detroit hopes that Richard Hamilton will be in the lineup after missing the last two games with a hyperextended right elbow. The All-Star guard leads the team with 22 points per game.

On Tuesday, Peja Stojakovic scored 22 of his career-best 42 points in the first quarter to help snap the Hornets' three-game slide with a 94-85 victory over the lowly Charlotte Bobcats.

Stojakovic's first-quarter performance set a franchise record for points in the period. It also was the third-best point total in club history.

With David West already resting a forearm injury, the Hornets starting frontcourt received another blow with the loss of center Tyson Chandler, who suffered a mild concussion late in the fourth quarter after getting elbowed. He will not travel with the team for Wednesday's game.

Detroit has won four straight matchups in the series.
