Kings look to continue home success vs. Grizzlies

Nov 15, 2006 - 4:00 PM Memphis (1-5) at Sacramento (4-2) 9:00 pm EST

SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) - The Sacramento Kings are glad to see the Memphis Grizzlies come to town.

The Kings will look to stay undefeated at home this season when they take on the Grizzlies on Wednesday.

Sacramento has won 17 straight games against Memphis at Arco Arena and they have been victorious in 21 of 22 all-time meetings against the Grizzlies on their home floor.

However, the Kings have played well against every team at home this season, winning their first three contests at Arco by double digits.

At home on Sunday, Martin scored 26 points to lead Sacramento to a 107-92 romp over the Toronto Raptors. Ron Artest also had a big game for the Kings with 23 points and he was instrumental in a game-breaking run spanning the first and second quarters.

Mike Bibby scored 21 points for Sacramento, which shot 49 percent (37-of-76) in beating Toronto for the ninth straight time at Arco.

Memphis continues to struggle without injured center Pau Gasol to start the season. Chucky Atkins had 20 points to lead the Grizzlies, who shot 41 percent (31-of-76) in a 96-87 loss to the Phoenix Suns.

After a dismal three quarters, Memphis nearly pulled off an improbable comeback. The Grizzlies rattled off a 20-0 run early in the fourth to cut what had been a commanding 91-60 advantage to 91-80 with 4:05 left. Phoenix was able to hold on to send Memphis to a disappointing 1-5 start.

The Kings and Grizzlies split a four-game series in 2005-06.
