Pistons, Sixers meet in pivotal Game Five
Apr 29, 2008 - 2:00 PM Philadelphia at Detroit 7:00 pm EDT Eastern Conference first round Series tied, 2-2AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) - The Detroit Pistons try to take control of their Eastern Conference first-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers in a crucial Game Five on Tuesday.
Tayshaun Prince scored 23 points and Rasheed Wallace had 20 and 10 rebounds as Detroit used a huge second half to post a 93-84 win over the Sixers in Game Four on Sunday, tying the series at two games apiece.
"Everybody knows that we are good under pressure," Pistons guard Chauncey Billups said. "I hate that we put ourselves in this position a lot of times."
Detroit also got a boost from forward Antonio McDyess, who scored 10 points off the bench after having surgery to repair his broken nose suffered in Game Three.
Pistons coach Flip Saunders' rotation might continue to be limited due to the lack of experience and production off the bench. McDyess was the only reserve to record a point in the last game.
Prince's defense on Sixers' swingman Andre Iguodala remains the one consistent thing for Detroit. He's holding the 6-6 Iguodala to 10.5 points on 22-percent shooting in the series.
"I have to try to turn it around," said Iguodala, who averaged a career-best 19.9 points in the regular season. "Hopefully, we can work some things in the offense to get me open. I need to be more patient and try to get better looks."
Andre Miller has turned into Philadelphia's most consistent player in the series. The 6-2 Miller has surpassed the 20-point plateau twice in the series and the club has won in each of those instances.
