NBA Parlay for Monday January 3rd, 2022

2022 is off and running and after two shallow slates, the NBA is back with a jam-packed menu for Monday night. While players come and go out of lineups nightly due to COVID protocols still hammering the league, there’s plenty of value to be had for those paying close enough attention.

Leg #1. Hornets +2 | -110 at DK Sportsbook

Things in the Nation’s Capitol continue to go from bad to worse as the return of Rui Hachimura (personal reasons) was met with another setback for the forward as he now is in COVID protocols. Paired with the loss of Thomas Bryant (knee), the Wizards have had no answer for threats down low and the result has been losing seven of their last 10 games.

Now, they draw an increasingly healthy Hornets team who has won three of their last four. Having scored just 99 points last night at home vs. the Suns, look for the Hornets to bounce back accordingly and handle the reeling Wizards tonight in Washington.

Leg #2. Nuggets +3.5 | -110 at DK Sportsbook

Nikola Jokic has been putting the league notice as of late why he is its MVP and could be again this season. Having won six of their last 10 and three straight, The Joker has carried this team as they’ve dealt with a plethora of COVID protocol absence and injuries.

They now draw a Mavericks team who just welcomed back their own star in Luka Doncic, who returned after a three-week absence due to a knee injury. With Doncic likely on minute restrictions tonight with it being the second of a back-to-back, look for Jokic and his wingman Aaron Gordon to take advantage in this one.

Leg #3. Warriors ML | -590 at DK Sportsbook

This line moved off of its opening number of -10 from just this morning, so I’m going the route of money line just to make our two-teamer a bit more profitable. For the home Warriors, Draymond Green and Damion Lee are expected to return from COVID protocols, which should give this already strong Warriors defensive front an even bigger boost.

The visiting Heat wish they could get one themselves, with six players and three starters out of the lineup for this one. While Jimmy Butler has returned, his presence alone won’t be enough with the cast of career reserves and G-League players around him.
