Iverson, 76ers hope to bounce back against Clippers

Nov 18, 2006 - 5:12 PM Philadelphia (4-4) at LA Clippers (5-2) 10:30 pm EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Allen Iverson was limited by an abscessed wisdom tooth on Friday. The Philadelphia 76ers' superstar will try to take a bite out of the Los Angeles Clippers when the teams square off Saturday.

Iverson scored 23 points but made just 8-of-22 shots in Friday's 106-94 defeat to the Phoenix Suns. The four-time scoring champion has shot just 31 percent (20-of-64) in his last three games.

Willie Green contributed 20 points off the bench and Andre Iguodala had 14 points for the Sixers, who made just 2-of-14 3-pointers in losing for the fourth time in five games.

The Clippers had a five-game winning streak halted with Tuesday's 112-90 defeat against Utah. They managed only 36 points in the second half, missed 12 free throws, committed 19 turnovers and were outrebounded, 40-32.

Cuttino Mobley scored 18 points, Corey Maggette had 17 and Elton Brand 16 for Los Angeles, which matched its season high for points allowed.

The Clippers have split their season series with the 76ers in each of the last three seasons. Los Angeles has won all three of its home meetings over that stretch.
