NBA Parlay Odds & Picks for Tuesday, April 12 (2022)

The playoffs have officially arrived (kind of) for the 2021-22 NBA season, as the play-in tournament officially begins tonight in Brooklyn and Minnesota. With two more games slated for tomorrow, just two teams in the conference will advance to the 7th and 8th seed.

Let’s take a closer look at the teams in action tonight and see where the value remains.

Leg #1. Nets -9.5 | -110 at DK Sportsbook

Winning four straight to finish the regular season despite being down some key players in Seth Curry and Goran Dragic, the Nets are getting hot at exactly the right time. As expected, Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving have led all scorers this season, averaging 29.9 and 27.4 points, respectively.

The defense has been the primary concern, as the Nets rank in the bottom half of the league, allowing 112.1 points per game.

Lucikly for them, and a major catalyst to not resting Durant/Irving to secure the 7th seed, is that their strengths play perfectly into beating the Cavaliers.

Coming into tonight, the Cavs rank 25th in the league in scoring just 107.8 points per game. Down the stretch, a Cavs team that once reached as high as the top half of the Eastern Conference has been in a free fall following one key injury after another. Losers of seven of 10, including three of four to finish the season, expect a valiant effort early to be not enough as the Nets roll late.

Leg #2. Clippers ML | +130 at DK Sportsbook

In one of the more intriguing play-in games to date, the red hot veteran Clippers will square off against a once-hot Timberwolves team with one of the younger nuclei in the league. Losers of two of three, the Timberwolves were without D’Angelo Russel (illness) in their home finale Sunday, but he’s expected to suit up tonight vs. the Clippers.

Speaking of those Clippers, while the lack of Kawhi Leonard might prevent a deep run, Paul George has returned at exactly the right time as the team has won their last five regular season contests to sneak into this one-game playoff. Averaging 128 points per game over that winning streak, I like for the Clippers to stay hot and advance to the postseason tonight with an outright win.
