Artest, Kings look to bounce back vs. Spurs
Nov 19, 2006 - 3:19 PM San Antonio (7-2) at Sacramento (5-3) 9:00 pm ESTSACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) -- The Sacramento Kings have been brilliant at home while the San Antonio Spurs have been road warriors. Something has to give.
The Kings will try and continue their stellar play at home when perennial All-Star Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs pay a visit on Sunday.
San Antonio is 4-0 on the road, however Sacramento has an unblemished record here in four matchups this season.
Kevin Martin collected 26 points and a season-high nine rebounds and Ron Artest added 20 points and four steals but it wasn't enough as Sacramento had its four-game winning streak ended in Thursday's 117-105 defeat at Golden State.
The Kings will seek revenge after getting tossed in last season's first round series against San Antonio. Sacramento tied the series at 2-2 before dropping two straight, ending their campaign.
Duncan had 21 points and 11 rebounds and Tony Parker chipped in 13 points and eight assists for the Spurs in Friday's 100-83 victory over the Chicago Bulls.
Maun Ginobili had his worst outing of the season on Friday, scoring just five points on 1-of-6 shooting. He is averaging 12.7 points - his lowest since his rookie campaign in 2002.
The Spurs took two of three meetings in the season series a year ago, including a 96-93 victory on November 21, 2005. Duncan is averaging a double-double - 24.4 points and 14.1 rebounds - in 33 career games against the Kings.
No one has shouted yet.
