Nov 20, 2006 - 4:06 PM Dallas (5-4) at Charlotte (2-7) 7:00 pm ESTCHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks have gotten hot at just the right time as they roll into Charlotte on Monday to take on the Bobcats.
Nowitzki had 24 points and 13 rebounds, and Jason Terry hit his first five 3-pointers and added 19 points, as the Mavericks beat the Memphis Grizzlies 89-84 on Saturday night.
The win extended the Mavericks winning streak to five games, despite the fact they committed 21 turnovers which the Grizzlies converted into 27 points.
Dallas opened the season with four consecutive losses, but has turned things around to move over .500 for the first time this season.
They face a Charlotte team coming off a 97-83 road loss to the Orlando Magic on Saturday.
Emeka Okafor hit 13 of 15 shots from the field and finished with 26 points and nine rebounds, but received very little support from his Charlotte teammates.
Sean May had 12 points for the Bobcats and rookie Adam Morrison 10, but Morrison was held scoreless in the second half when he was 0-of-7 from the field .
Charlotte has lost four of its last five games and is just 1-3 at home.
An encouraging sign for the Bobcats was the appearance of center Primoz Brezec, who played for the first time this season after sitting out eight games with exhaustion.
Dallas is 4-0 all-time vs. Charlotte.
