Nets try to earn season split against Sonics

Nov 20, 2006 - 4:25 PM New Jersey (5-4) at Seattle (4-7) 10:00 pm EST

SEATTLE (Ticker) -- A week ago, the New Jersey Nets fell short to the Seattle SuperSonics. They will try to avoid that same result Monday.

The Nets absorbed a 119-113 setback to the Sonics on November 13. Vince Carter scored 38 points, but Luke Ridnour had a career-high 32 and Rashard Lewis poured in 27.

New Jersey will have to rebound from an 86-68 loss to Portland on Saturday. The Nets fell behind, 25-8, after the first quarter and shot an abysmal 33 percent (23-of-69) from the field.

Carter had 18 points and Nenad Krstic added 13 for New Jersey, which is beginning a four-game west-coast road trip.

The Sonics' victory over the Nets was their last. Seattle has dropped three straight games since, the latest a 107-95 setback against Golden State on Saturday.

Ray Allen collected 34 points and 11 boards and Lewis added 17 and seven for Seattle, which has won two straight here over New Jersey.
