Rockets aim to keep Wizards winless on road
Nov 22, 2006 - 2:10 PM Washington (4-6) at Houston (7-4) 8:30 pm ESTHOUSTON (Ticker) - The Houston Rockets look to add to the Washington Wizards' struggles on the road Wednesday.
The fact that the Wizards are winless away from the MCI Center is a bonus for the Rockets, who have won the last four meetings here.
Houston closed out a two-game road trip with a 97-90 victory over New York on Monday. Yao Ming collected 26 points, nine rebounds and three blocks and Tracy McGrady added 24 points for the Rockets, who made 10 3-pointers.
The Wizards fell to 0-5 on the road following a 107-80 drubbing to the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday. Gilbert Arenas was the lone bright spot, netting 29 points. Washington shot just 36 percent (27-of-76) from the field, including 2-of-16 from the arc, and was outrebounded, 57-43.
The Wizards conclude their three-game road trip in Memphis on Friday.
Washington along with Memphis (0-6), Toronto (0-6) and the Los Angeles Clippers (0-3) are the remaining teams still seeking a road victory.
The Rockets took both meetings over the Wizards last season.
