Kidd, Nets aim for revenge against Trail Blazers

Nov 22, 2006 - 2:14 PM New Jersey (5-5) at Portland (5-7) 10:00 pm EST

PORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) - Four days after suffering an embarrassing loss to the Portland Trail Blazers, Jason Kidd and the New Jersey Nets look for revenge in the opener of a three-game road trip Wednesday.

The Trail Blazers dominated the Nets in Saturday's 86-68 victory at Continental Airlines Arena. They led, 25-8, after the first quarter and never looked back, holding New Jersey to just 33 percent (23-of-69) shooting, including 2-of-12 from the arc.

Zach Randolph led Portland with 20 points and 16 rebounds and Jarrett Jack and rookie LaMarcus Aldridge each scored 12. Vince Carter scored 18 points and Kidd added 12 for the Nets, but the duo combined to make just 9-of-26 shots.

New Jersey was not much better in its last outing, a 99-87 home defeat to Seattle on Monday. Carter scored 27 points and Nenad Krstic chipped in 16 for the Nets, who dropped back-to-back games for the first time this season.

The Blazers lost for the fifth time in six games Monday with a 107-98 setback against San Antonio. Randolph again paced Portland with 23 points and Juan Dixon had 17 in the losing effort.
