Raptors look to end road woes at Atlanta

Nov 24, 2006 - 3:37 PM Toronto (3-8) at Atlanta (4-5) 7:30 pm EST

ATLANTA (Ticker) - The Toronto Raptors hate hitting the road.

The Raptors hope to avoid their 14th straight defeat away from home when they take on the Atlanta Hawks on Friday.

Toronto has lost all six road games this season and 13 straight since a 114-109 win over New York on March 21.

The Raptors picked up a home win on Wednesday after completing a 0-5 road trip against Western Conference opponents. Joey Graham matched a season high with 16 points and fueled a second-half surge as the Raptors ended a six-game slide with a 95-87 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Chris Bosh had 25 points and 14 rebounds for Toronto, which won for the first time since November 8 vs. Philadelphia.

For the first time since February 12, 2002, the Raptors were without Morris Peterson. The swingman sat out with a sore elbow, ending his NBA-best consecutive games streak at 371.

If Toronto is to pick up a road win, the Hawks may be a good opponent. Atlanta just can't seem to put together a complete performance, losing its last four contests by a combined 13 points, including a 103-98 loss to Detroit on Wednesday.

Joe Johnson scored 25 points and rookie Shelden Williams added 20 for Atlanta, which had won four straight games before its skid.

Johnson scored a season-high 34 points in Atlanta's win over the the Raptors two weeks ago in the first meeting of the campaign between the teams.
