Pistons try to extend season-high win streak to six

Nov 25, 2006 - 2:37 PM Detroit (8-5) at Washington (4-8) 7:00 pm EST

WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- The Detroit Pistons started their five-game winning streak against the Washington Wizards. The teams meet again on Saturday.

On November 17, the Pistons posted a 100-91 victory over the Wizards.

Detroit used that momentum to win the next four games, including a 104-95 victory over Charlotte on Friday. Richard Hamilton scored 26 points and handed out six assists and Tayshaun Prince added 21 points for the Pistons, who shot 49 percent (41-of-83) from the field.

Rasheed Wallace had 19 points and Chauncey Billups dished out 10 assists for Detroit.

Gilbert Arenas and the Wizards will try to rebound from an 0-3 road trip, pushing their losing streak to begin the season away from home to seven. Arenas had just three points on 1-of-12 shooting in Washington's 95-80 loss to Memphis on Friday.

Caron Butler netted 22 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for the Wizards, who committed 17 turnovers.

The Pistons have won in seven of their last eight trips here.
