Gay guides Grizzlies past Bobcats
Oct 11, 2008 - 2:38 AM MEMPHIS, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Rudy Gay scored a game-high 17 points as the Memphis Grizzlies recorded a 92-79 triumph over the Charlotte Bobcats on Friday in a preseason game.The former University of Connecticut star was 7-of-14 from the field - including 2-of-4 from 3-point range - for Memphis, which enjoyed a 48-39 advantage at halftime.
Hakim Warrick scored 14 points off the bench, Quinton Ross added 13 and Darrell Arthur, the 27th overall pick of the 2008 draft, had eight for the Grizzlies.
Jason Richardson had 14 points and Gerald Wallace added 13 for Charlotte, which trimmed the deficit to 85-79 in the fourth quarter but could not draw closer.
Andre Brown finished with 12 points for the Bobcats.
