Rockets aim to keep Grizzlies winless on road
Nov 25, 2006 - 2:50 PM Memphis (3-9) at Houston (8-4) 8:30 pm ESTHOUSTON (Ticker) -- The Houston Rockets can keep their second consecutive opponent winless on the road.
The Rockets face the Memphis Grizzlies for the second time this season on Saturday.
In its previous contest, Houston posted an 86-82 victory over Washington on Wednesday, extending the Wizards' road record to 0-6. Rafer Alston, who had 12 points, hit the decisive 3-pointer with six seconds left.
Yao Ming scored 25 points and grabbed 14 rebounds and Tracy McGrady collected 13, 12 and eight assists for the Rockets, who survived 20 turnovers.
Memphis enters this contest with an 0-6 road record.
After a seven-game losing streak, the Grizzlies won for the second time in three outings with a 95-80 triumph over the Wizards on Friday. Hakim Warrick netted 18 points, Chucky Atkins added 15 and Dahntay Jones contributed 14 for Memphis, which forced 17 turnovers.
Houston ended a four-game losing streak to Memphis following an 86-80 win on November 7. Yao scored 24 points and McGrady added 19.
