Jazz try to extend NBA's longest winning streak

OAKLAND, California (Ticker) -- The Utah Jazz seek to extend their eight-game winning streak when they visit the Golden State Warriors on Saturday.

Rallying for a fourth straight time, the Jazz posted a 114-108 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday. Carlos Boozer collected 31 points and 16 rebounds and Mehmet Okur added 18 and 12 for Utah, which trailed by seven points in the closing quarter.

Deron Williams had 15 points and 10 assists for the Jazz, who dominated the boards, 45-27.

Utah is tied with Dallas for the longest current winning streak in the NBA this season.

Meanwhile, the Warriors endured their third straight loss, a 140-129 setback to the Denver Nuggets on Friday. Andris Biedrins scored a career-high 31 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, but committed a team-high seven turnovers for Golden State, which shot 57 percent (53-of-93) from the floor. Matt Barnes added 21 points.

Warriors point guard Baron Davis missed the contest due to a strained right rib muscle for the Warriors, who turned the ball over 26 times.

The Jazz defeated Golden State, 106-82, on November 4 for their straight win in the series. Okur and Boozer combined for 38 points and 26 boards.
