Thunder make debut vs. Bucks

Oct 29, 2008 - 10:15 AM Milwaukee (0-1) at Oklahoma City, 8:00 p.m. EDT

OKLAHOMA CITY (Ticker) -- Members of the Oklahoma City Thunder hope a change of scenery can help turn around the recent slump for a once-storied franchise.

In their first regular season game since moving from Seattle, the Thunder break in their new home against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday.

The Supersonics used to be a perennial playoff team, but have fallen on hard times with only one playoff series win in 10 years before making the move to the Sooner State.

With a roster full of young budding stars like last year's Rookie of the Year Kevin Durant and No. 4 overall pick Russell Westbrook, head coach P.J. Carlesimo has a core to start rebuilding around.

Milwaukee's new head coach Scott Skiles faced his old team in his debut, losing, 108-95, to the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday.

It also marked the debut for forward Richard Jefferson. After joining the Bucks in an offseason trade for Yi Jianlian and Bobby Simmons, Jefferson struggled in his first game with his new team, scoring 15 points on 5-of-17 shooting.

In his ninth season with the team, guard Michael Redd got off to a great start, knocking down four 3-pointers en route to a 30-point performance in the losing effort.
