James look to find touch vs. Mavericks

Nov 3, 2008 - 2:40 PM Cleveland (1-2) at Dallas (1-1) 8:30 pm. EST

DALLAS (Ticker) -- LeBron James looks to shake off the early season cobwebs on Monday when the Cleveland Cavaliers visit the Dallas Mavericks.

The reigning scoring champion, "King James" has been off with his shot thus far. James, who averaged 30.0 points and shot a career-best 48.4 percent from the floor last season, is shooting just 43 percent through three games.

He went 6-for-15 in a 104-92 loss to New Orleans on Saturday, and is 0-for-9 from beyond the arc. As a result, the Cavaliers are averaging 91.0 points - five points less than last season.

James will try to get untracked against the Mavericks, who he had owned up until last season. The multi-talented superstar averaged 37.8 points in five meetings with Dallas prior to 2007-08, when that number was down to 17.0 points per game.

Dallas notched its first win of the season on Saturday, as Dirk Nowitzki scored 21 points in a 95-85 triumph over Minnesota.
