Beasley leads Heat against 76ers

Nov 5, 2008 - 2:02 PM Philadelphia (2-2) at Miami (1-2) 7:30 p.m. EST

MIAMI (Ticker) -- Michael Beasley looks to build on the best outing of his budding career Wednesday when the Miami Heat host the Philadelphia 76ers.

The rookie posted season highs in points and minutes Saturday as he scored 25 points on 10-of-16 from the field in 42 minutes against Charlotte. Miami, however, was outrebounded 41-27 and allowed the Bobcats to shoot 54 percent in the 100-87 loss.

While Beasley is developing quickly, Dwyane Wade has not yet returned to Olympic form, shooting just 41 percent (21-of-51) from the field and committing four turnovers a game.

Wednesday's game in Miami opens a stretch of four out of five road games for Philadelphia, which lost its only road contest of the season in Atlanta, 95-88, on Saturday.

The 76ers bounced back in a big way Monday, routing Sacramento, 125-91, with eight different players scoring in double figures.

Thaddeus Young had a team-high 18 points, while Elton Brand added 15 points and Lou Williams scored 17 off the bench.
