Wizards go for first win in Milwaukee
Nov 5, 2008 - 2:23 PM Washington (0-2) at Milwaukee (2-2) 8:00 p.m. ESTMILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- The Washington Wizards are the only team in the Eastern Conference without a win this season.
They look to put an end to that distinction when they take on the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday.
After suffering a 95-85 home loss to New Jersey in its opener, Washington put together an impressive offensive performance in Detroit, but fell, 117-109.
While the statistics were promising - 52 percent shooting (41-of-79), 22 assists to only eight turnovers and 92 percent from the free throw line (23-of-25) - the Wizards were thoroughly dominated on the glass as Detroit held a 49-24 advantage in rebounding.
Washington's rookie guard Nick Young has been impressive in the early going, averaging 16.5 points in 23 minutes a game.
Milwaukee won its second straight road contest on Sunday, topping the New York Knicks by a 94-86 count thanks to a balanced offensive attack. Richard Jefferson and Ramon Sessions each scored 18 points as six players finished in double digits for the Bucks.
Michael Redd, who leads the Bucks in scoring at 21.3 points per game, remains day-to-day after suffering a sprained right ankle against the Knicks.
