Suns close out road trip against Bucks

Nov 8, 2008 - 11:23 AM Phoenix (4-2) at Milwaukee (3-3), 8:30pm EST

MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- Fresh off their worst showing, the Phoenix Suns will look to get back on track as they close their three-game road trip.

The Suns visit the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday as they try to erase the memory of Friday's ugly 100-83 loss to the Chicago Bulls.

After hitting more than 55 percent of its shots over its first five games, Phoenix went cold from the floor and was handled by one of its former architects - Bulls head coach Vinny Del Negro, who spent 2007-08 as the Suns' assistant general manager.

Two-time league MVP Steve Nash will also be looking to snap out of a rare personal slump, as he has managed just 13 points and 11 assists over the last two games. Combined. Over the last four years, those might be considered pedestrian numbers for a single game.

Facing the Bucks might be just the ticket for both Nash and the Suns. The team has won eight of its last nine meetings with Milwaukee and Nash has averaged 20.0 points - six above his career average - on 54.5 percent shooting in his career against the Bucks. Last season, they couldn't touch him. In a pair of Phoenix victories in January, he posted 37- and 35-point performances, hitting 26-of-40 from the field and 10-of-16 from 3-point range.

The Bucks are returning home after dropping a 101-89 decision to the reigning champion Boston Celtics on Friday. Richard Jefferson led the way with 20 points and Charlie Villanueva registered a double-double with 13 and 12 boards. Milwaukee committed 22 turnovers in the loss.
