After dramatic win, Blazers host Timberwolves

Nov 8, 2008 - 11:22 AM Minnesota (1-4) at Portland (2-3) 10:00 p.m. EST

PORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) -- The Portland Trail Blazers aim to build some momentum following a dramatic victory when they host the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday.

After Yao Ming completed a three-point play with less than one second left in overtime, giving the Houston Rockets a 99-98 lead, Brandon Roy hit a deep 3-pointer at the buzzer, lifting the Trail Blazers to a 101-99 overtime triumph on Thursday.

The shot went through, but the game wasn't decided until officials reviewed the replay. After a couple minutes, the signal was given that the shot would indeed count and Portland had won.

Roy finished with 17 points while grabbing seven rebounds and dishing five assists. LaMarcus Aldridge led the Blazers with 27 points and nine boards.

Portland now welcomes the Timberwolves, who have lost four straight after a season-opening 98-96 victory against the Sacramento Kings.

Rookie Kevin Love scored a season-high 20 points and added eight rebounds on Friday, but it wasn't enough to lift Minnesota to a second straight win over the Kings, as it dropped a 121-109 decision.
