Kings go for third straight win vs. Warriors
Nov 9, 2008 - 7:21 AM Golden State (2-4) at Sacramento (2-4) 9:00 p.m. ESTSACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) -- After going winless in a four-game road trip to open the season, the Sacramento Kings have won two straight thanks to some home cooking and the return of two-time All-Star center Brad Miller.
The Kings were victorious in Miller's return from a five-game suspension and will look to extend their winnnig streak to three on Sunday when they host the Golden State Warriors.
Sacramento's big man missed the first five contests of the season for violating the league's drug policy, but made an instant impact in his return. Miller collected 11 points and 10 rebounds and Kevin Martin led the Kings with 26 points in a 121-109 triumph over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday.
A shorthanded Golden State squad dropped its second game to the Memhis Grizzlies this season on Friday, 109-104. It also lost in Memphis, 90-79, on Monday.
The Warriors, who were without Al Harrington (back) and Corey Magette (hamstring), were led by Stephen Jackson's 27 points in the loss on Friday.
It has been an early season filled with turmoil for Golden State, which fired Pete D'Alessandro and replaced him with Larry Riley as assistant general manager. Harrington is also currently seeking a trade after feuding with coach Don Nelson over lack of playing time.
