Hawks look to stay perfect vs. Thunder

Nov 9, 2008 - 7:25 AM Atlanta (4-0) at Oklahoma City (1-4) 7:00 p.m. EST

OKLAHOMA CITY (Ticker) -- In one of the early surprises of the NBA season, it is not the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers nor Detroit Pistons who remain as the last unbeaten team in the Eastern Conference.

That honor belongs to the Atlanta Hawks.

The Southeast Division leaders put their spotless record on the line when they take on the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday.

After four impressive victories over playoff teams from a year ago, the Hawks open a four-game, six-day road trip.

Joe Johnson ranks fifth in the East with 25.3 points a game, but it was Mike Bibby's 19-point, 12-assist performance that propelled Atlanta past Toronto, 110-92, on Friday.

The 4-0 start is Atlanta's best since it won the first 11 games of the 1997-98 season. The Hawks will be without Josh Smith for two-to-four weeks after he suffered a high ankle sprain late in the first quarter against the Raptors.

The Thunder have struggled offensively during their first campaign in Oklahoma City, averaging just 86.4 points a game, which ranks 29th in the league

Oklahoma City has only three players averaging in double figures, with Kevin Durant's 19.4 points per contest leading the way.
