Billups, Nuggets building chemistry in a hurry

Nov 11, 2008 - 3:01 PM Denver (3-3) at Charlotte (2-4) 7:00 p.m. EST

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- It hasn't taken long for Chauncey Billups to find his rhythm with the Denver Nuggets.

The Nuggets look to win their third straight game since acquiring Billups when they visit the Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday.

After a 1-3 start to the new season, Denver on November 3 sent nine-time All-Star Allen Iverson to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Billups, center Cheikh Samb and veteran forward Antonio McDyess, who was waived on Monday.

Billups had 15 points, four rebounds and three assists in his debut, helping the Nuggets claim a 108-105 victory against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday. The 32-year-old veteran was even better on Sunday, scoring 16 points while adding 10 assists and six boards en route to a 100-90 triumph over the Memphis Grizzlies as Denver returned to .500 on the campaign.

Carmelo Anthony, who had 24 points against the Grizzlies, is happy with the development the team is making with the addition of Billups.

"Our chemistry is coming along pretty well so far trying to get everybody involved in the game and making everybody better," he said.

The Bobcats opened their season-high six-game homestand with a three-point victory against the New Orleans Hornets on Friday but failed to build on that momentum, dropping a 89-79 decision to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday.
