Pistons seeking first win with Iverson

Nov 11, 2008 - 3:05 PM Detroit (4-2) at Sacramento (3-4) 10:00 p.m. EST

SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) -- The Detroit Pistons are still waiting for Allen Iverson to make an impact.

The Pistons on Tuesday go for their first win since acquiring Iverson when they visit the Sacramento Kings, who will be without top scorer Kevin Martin.

Iverson, who was traded by the Denver Nuggets to Detroit in exchange for Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess and Cheikh Samb on November 3, scored only 10 points as the team suffered its second straight loss, 88-76, to the defending NBA champion Boston Celtics on Sunday.

After a 4-0 start in which they averaged 104.5 points per game, the Pistons have yet to score 100 points with the nine-time All-Star Iverson, who registered 24 points in a 103-96 setback to the New Jersey Nets during his debut on Friday.

Detroit hopes to end its drought against the surging, but shorthanded Kings. Sacramento has won each of its last three contests after a four-game losing streak to start the season due in large part to the strong play of Martin.

The 25-year-old averaged 28.7 points during the trio of wins but came up lame after being fouled hard and hitting the floor with 2:39 left in the third quarter of Sunday's 115-98 win over the Golden State Warriors. Martin aggravated an injury he suffered against the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday and is expected to miss seven to 10 days with a sprained left ankle.
