Harris likely out again when Nets face Pacers

Nov 12, 2008 - 11:25 AM Indiana (3-3) at New Jersey (2-4) 7:30 p.m. EST

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- The New Jersey Nets can't seem to find a win without Devin Harris.

The Nets try to avoid a third straight loss with Harris watching from the sidelines when they return home to face the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old point guard, Harris sat out Monday's 99-94 loss to the Miami Heat, due to the left ankle he sprained during a 103-96 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Friday in which he scored a career-best 38 points.

"Devin was off the charts, doing all that on a bad ankle," New Jersey coach Lawrence Frank said after beating Detroit. "I thought he showed unbelievable grit. He was tremendous."

Harris was not in the lineup for Saturday's 98-80 loss at Indiana and appears to be headed for the bench during the rematch.

In four games, Harris is averaging 18.8 points and 4.8 assists and will be missed against the Pacers, who are coming off a 107-99 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday.

T.J. Ford led the way with 24 points and 10 assists against the Thunder, recording his first double-double since he was acquired in the trade that sent Jermaine O'Neal to the Toronto Raptors during the offseason. Ford narrowly missed a triple-double against the Nets, scoring 13 points while adding nine rebounds and nine assists.
