Clippers eye rare back-to-back wins

Nov 12, 2008 - 11:33 AM Sacramento (3-5) at LA Clippers (1-6) 10:30 p.m. EST

LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Clippers finally snapped their season-opening losing streak.

The Clippers try to end an even longer drought on Wednesday when they host the Sacramento Kings.

After losing each of its first six games by an average of 19 points, Los Angeles became the last team in the Western Conference to earn a victory on Sunday, forging a 103-92 triumph over the Dallas Mavericks.

Baron Davis, who signed a five-year, $65 million contract during the offseason to join the Clippers as a free agent, led the way with 23 points and 10 assists.

Los Angeles hopes for a similar performance from Davis against the Kings as they aim for back-to-back wins for the first time since beating the Memphis Grizzlies and Utah Jazz on February 20 and 22.

The Kings are seeking their first road win of the season. Sacramento opened the season with four straight games away from home, losing the season opener, 98-96, to the Minnesota Timberwolves before dropping its next three contests by at least 18 points.

However, the Kings won three straight upon returning to Arco Arena, but failed to close their four-game homestand on a strong note, dropping a 100-82 decision to the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday.
