Slumping Mavericks look to reverse woes vs. Magic

Nov 14, 2008 - 11:27 AM Orlando (5-3) at Dallas (2-6) 8:30 p.m. EST

DALLAS (Ticker) -- The Dallas Mavericks have struggled to find a win at home. A meeting with the Orlando Magic might reverse that trend.

The Mavericks look to end a three-game losing streak at American Airlines Center when they host the Magic on Friday.

Dallas has yet to win a home game and is off to its worst start since 1998-99 when it opened with one win in its first eight games. The Mavericks have dropped four straight overall for the first time since starting the 2006-07 season with four consecutive setbacks and are looking to avoid their first five-game losing streak since February 29 to March 7, 2000.

Despite its woes, Dallas has had no trouble recently against the Magic on its home floor. The Mavericks have won 10 straight against Orlando at American Airlines Center, dating to a 100-90 loss on December 11, 2007.

However, the Magic enter the game red-hot after earning their fifth win in six games, a 109-92 romp against Oklahoma City on Wednesday.

Dwight Howard posted a triple-double with 30 points, 19 rebounds and a career-high 10 blocks for Orlando, becoming the first player since Marcus Camby, then of the Denver Nuggets, accomplished the feat in December 2007.
