Blazers eye fifth straight win

Nov 14, 2008 - 11:26 AM Portland (5-3) at New Orleans (4-3), 8:00 p.m. EST

NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- The Portland Trail Blazers seem to be getting healthier as they continue to keep winning.

With rookie Greg Oden back in the fold, Portland goes for its fifth straight win when it visits the New Orleans Hornets on Friday.

Oden played sparingly in Portland's 104-96 victory over the Miami Heat on Wednesday. The 2007 top overall pick had three points, two rebounds and two blocks in 16 minutes.

Rookie Rudy Fernandez scored 14 of his career-high 25 points and Brandon Roy added 22 in the Blazers' second game of a five-game road trip.

Expected to be one of the top teams in the Western Conference, New Orleans has gotten off to a bit of a sluggish start.

The Hornets were severely outplayed before rallying late in Wednesday's 93-86 setback to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Chris Paul has not disappointed and he continued his record-setting streak in the loss to the Lakers.

The guard has at least 20 points and 10 assists in all seven games - a record to begin a season - and has recorded at least one steal in 91 consecutive games. He had 30 points, 13 assists and two steals against Los Angeles.
