Hawks and Nets conclude home-and-home

Nov 15, 2008 - 11:23 AM New Jersey (3-5) at Atlanta (6-2) 7:00 p.m. EST

ATLANTA (Ticker) -- The Atlanta Hawks have dropped two straight after opening the season 6-0. On Saturday, they have the chance to avenge their latest loss.

Atlanta takes on the New Jersey Nets in the second leg of a home-and-home series.

New Jersey captured Friday's contest, 115-108.

The first six wins for the Hawks may seem like a distant memory after two tough losses to a pair of Atlantic Division teams.

Paul Pierce's jumper with 0.5 seconds left gave the defending champion Boston Celtics a 103-102 win on Wednesday and New Jersey snapped a three-game losing streak with Friday's win.

Joe Johnson scored 21 of his 32 points in the fourth quarter to lead Atlanta, which sank shot 56 percent (15-of-27) from behind the arc.

Devin Harris, who returned from a sprained left ankle that caused him to miss three games, led the Nets with 30 points and eight assists.

Vince Carter scored 26 and Brook Lopez added 25 points and nine rebounds after being inserted into the starting lineup in the place of an injured Josh Boone.
