Heat try for rare road win against Wizards

Nov 18, 2008 - 1:41 PM Miami (5-5) at Washington (1-6) 7:00 p.m. EST

WASHINGTON (Ticker) -- The Miami Heat beat the Washington Wizards by 20 points just four days ago, but that was on their home court.

Miami will look to improve on a poor start on the road this season when they visit Washington on Tuesday.

In the first matchup of the season between the Southeast division foes, Dwyane Wade led the Heat with 24 points while Shawn Marion and Udonis Haslem both added doubles.

Haslem collected 13 points and 13 rebounds while Marion added 12 and 12 for Miami, which is 1-4 away from home.

The Wizards have struggled to the worst record in the East in the early going this season, mostly due to a defense that ranks second to last in the conference at 104 points allowed per game.

Washington's leading scorer, Caron Butler, who is averaging 19.1 points a game, was limited to just six in the 97-77 loss to the Heat.

Antawn Jamison led the way with 15 points while Nick Young and rookie JaVale McGee added 13 apiece off the bench. The pair saw plenty of playing time as the Heat led by double-digits for the final quarter and a half.
