Mavericks hope to build off momentum

Nov 18, 2008 - 1:57 PM Dallas (3-7) at Charlotte (3-6), 7:00 p.m. EST

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- The Dallas Mavericks attempt to win back-to-back games for the first time this season when they visit the Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday.

Dallas snapped a five-game losing streak on Sunday, rallying to defeat the New York Knicks in overtime, 124-114.

Dirk Nowitzki had a season-high 39 points and 15 rebounds and had season highs with 31 and 14 in the win.

If history plays any role in the contest, Dallas should have no problem winning its second straight game. The Mavericks have won all eight meetings with the Bobcats in the all-time series.

The Mavericks could use some positive news. Team owner Mark Cuban was charged with insider trading Monday by the Securities and Exchange Commission, though he has denied any wrongdoing.

Charlotte has lost three of its last four, including Sunday's 90-85 setback to Orlando.

Jason Richardson leads the Bobcats in scoring at 17.6 points per game but he has missed the last two contests with soreness in his right knee.
