Cavaliers eye eighth straight win

Nov 18, 2008 - 2:05 PM Cleveland (8-2) at New Jersey (4-5), 7:30 p.m. EST

EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- LeBron James will put his skills on display against the New Jersey Nets on Tuesday when the streaking Cleveland Cavaliers shoot for their eighth straight win.

James leads the league in scoring at 29.8 points per game but many are wondering whether he will stay in Cleveland when he becomes a free agent during the summer of 2010. There already has been speculation that the superstar could land in New Jersey.

The 23-year-old is often seen wearing a New York Yankees hat and is friends with Nets part-owner Jay-Z, who may try and lure the superstar to New Jersey or Brooklyn - where the team is scheduled to relocate to for the 2010-11 campaign.

While that decision is far off, "King James" has been nothing short of magnificent this season and the Cavaliers are flying high as a result.

James had 38 points in Cleveland's 105-93 victory over the shorthanded Utah Jazz on Saturday.

The Nets are coming off an impressive home-and-home sweep of the Atlanta Hawks last weekend - their first back-to-back wins of the campaign.

Devin Harris had 33 points and 10 assists in Saturday's 119-107 triumph and has scored at least 30 points in consecutive games after missing three contests with an ankle injury.

Cleveland has not won eight straight since March 3-17, 2007.
