Hawks search for answers when they visit Wizards

Nov 28, 2006 - 2:57 PM Atlanta (5-6) at Washington (4-9) 7:00 pm EST

WASHINGTON (Ticker) - After winning four of their first five games, the Atlanta Hawks have been developing some familiar bad habits.

Joe Johnson looks to rebound from his lowest-scoring effort of the campaign as the Hawks try to record their first road win against the Washington Wizards in six tries Tuesday.

Ranked eighth in the league in scoring (26.5), Johnson made just 6-of-15 shots and scored 16 points for Atlanta, which lost for the fifth time in six contests in Saturday's 98-79 setback to the Orlando Magic. It was the first game this season he failed to reach 20 points.

The Hawks are looking to get back to the .500 mark and continue their quest for their first winning campaign in eight seasons. However, Atlanta is 2-3 on the road this season after collecting just 12 wins away from home in the past two campaigns.

Although the Wizards have won four of six home games this season, they have dropped their last four contests overall. Only Charlotte and Memphis have worse records than Washington.

Gilbert Arenas scored 28 points and had 10 assists, Caron Butler added 25 points and Antawn Jamison 22 for the Wizards in Saturday's 115-111 defeat to the Detroit Pistons.

Washington won the first three encounters with Atlanta last season before the Hawks posted a 114-101 victory on April 4.
